Tell us a little about yourself. (Where you're from, how you got into the field you are in, and time at Freedom Dental Care)
I was born & raised in Maryland. I come from a big family & have a twin brother. I started out as a Surgical Tech for an oral surgery practice 10 yrs ago, and transitioned into a General Dentistry practice where I worked as a Dental Assistant while going to hygiene school. I was excited to begin my career, at Freedom Dental Care, as a Dental Hygienist right out of hygiene school in July 2016.
What are your favorite things to do in your spare time?
I love to spend time with my husband & family; our family lives all over the country, so taking time to travel and visit with them is important to me. I also love: live music, exercise, baking, reading, anything outdoors, and animals.
Share an experience with a patient that has made a lasting impression on you.
I saw a patient while in hygiene school and they followed me to Freedom Dental Care once I started. I felt that I helped to instill trust in a patient that once feared going to the dentist.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Absolutely everything! I'm a clean freak, so my job is fun! I love meeting new people and hearing about their families and what interests them. I also work for an incredible group of people, so being part of this work family is a great feeling.
What is a little known talent you have unrelated to your profession?
Hmm...I am very crafty/thrifty...I save money extremely well :)
