Celebrating Dental Hygienists

A group of dental professionals networking and discussing dental hygiene
Celebrating Dental Hygienists event hosted by Freedom Dental Care, 2/23/2023
DENTAL HYGIENISTS MAKE A TREMENDOUS IMPACT on our community's overall health.

We hosted an event for Registered Dental Hygienists and students to share what they know about the profession and meet with some professional dental representatives. We thought you might like to learn a little more about Dental Hygiene and the event as well.

What does a Dental Hygienist do?

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, "Dental hygienists examine patients for signs of oral diseases, such as gingivitis, and provide preventive care, including oral hygiene." We know that at Freedom Dental Care they go a step beyond that definition. Our dental hygiene team also creates relationships and works hard to instill a life-long passion for excellent dental hygiene habits in each of our guests.

Our Dental Hygiene team are experienced and highly educated.

There are several hygiene schools in the area including UMSOD and HCC. Two of our Dental Hygienists, Rachel and Olivia graduated from West Virginia University, while another, Katelyn graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology.

What was the "Celebrating Dental Hygienists" event?

The past couple years have been very challenging on the dental profession, so we thought it would be a good opportunity to give a little thank you. Dental hygienists have kept our communities healthy and smiling during our most trying times. This was a great opportunity for them to get together and discuss some of the things they have learned and connect with other professionals from the industry. We had representation from two of the industry's most respected dental hygiene companies, Dentsply Sirona and Philips. We were very happy to have them showcase their products and how they continue to innovate in the dental profession.
